The Waka Is Approaching...

Firstly we walked to Pt England for something special… Waka Landing.

While we were walking we saw other schools strolling to Pt England Reserve. When we arrived we sat at our spot and talked and talked to keep us comfortable until the waka landed. At the Pt England Reserve there were 11 schools that were attending and to give their support to the waka landing  on Wednesday 25 March 2015.

Later on when the waka landed a boy from Tamaki College blew a Pukaea horn to tell the people on board that we are ready. When they came we sang “He Honore” and “Nga Waka e” to welcome them to our country. After that we sang more songs and they made speeches about Manaiakalani and said that we are the “CHILDREN OF THE NAVIGATORS”.

Towards the end we did a hi five to the people who came from Hawaii.
Finally after that we walked back to school to have a little rest before doing our work.

Everyday Theatre - Diary

Dear Diary...

I'm having a very hard time  with mom's new boyfriend and now he is moving in it’s changing everything because dad and mum keep on arguing and arguing.

Brian has a bunch of alcohol stored in the garage but he never drinks it so I will give them to my friend, Jack because he loves beer. My mum decided to let Becca move in into my bedroom. Now I have to sleep on the couch every time and now I'm never going to be happy.

Whenever I have my homework I go straight to Becca because she is smart but then she always says so. I beg and beg until she says. "yes", but no she doesn't.

I wish I had a normal happy life with just me, dad and mum.

I'm angry like someone lost their mom.

St Kents.

A enjoyable day at St Kents.

We jumped on the bus and were transported to St Kents along the bumpy road. We arrived and jumped out of the bus and walked to the hall.

Suddenly we were in our groups and St Kents greeted us before they announced the leaders. After that they put the leaders in their groups. Our group is Group 1 and our leader was Matt.

Next we decided to play basketball but before that we did a lot of warm up and learned more skills and did lots of new trick that we have not done before.

Later on we were ready to compete against Group 8 and we lost to them. We had good shooters Lebron, James and Nick Young . Straight after a good P.E day we walked back and hopped on the bus and traveled back to school.

The Deadliest Soldier

25 April 1915.

Dear Uncle  Ayden

I have been chosen to be in World War 1 and be in the ANZAC army force to represent my country, New Zealand. We got our weapons and other stuff ready to go and fight. When we arrived at Turkey we crept up the hill and heard gunshots already fired by the Turks who were hiding on top of the hills.

After that  Me, Mika, Damien and Don ran far out on the side so they couldn’t find us. Then we made a big trench to hide in. We were hungry and had ANZAC cookies to eat and water to drink. Later we went to sleep and gunshots were still going on and people yelling.

Later that day we sneaked out of the trench and one of us ran out to look if there was anyone there and Damien volunteered to run out. He looked both sides and then was a shot fired by a sniper. Damien died and we said R.I.P.

There were still gunshots everywhere then we stood and ran and shot some Turkish soldiers. Suddenly someone threw a grenade, BOOM!  Don didn’t make it he lost his head and legs, R.I.P.

Me and Mika saw the ship and we went in. We two made it back home. We bought Damien and Don back as well for their funeral. Rest In Peace.

From  Simon.

Worlds Tallest Man And Worlds Shortest Man Meet.

Summary:

On the 13th of November the tallest recorded man in the world and the shortest man world met for the first time in London for the 10th annual Guinness World Records Day. The event celebrates record-setting around the world and brought Sultan Kosen the tallest man from Turkey and brought Chandra Bahadur Dangi from Nepal so they could meet. Sulta is 8 feet and 3 inches tall. Chandra is 54cm tall.

Opinion:

I think that the tallest man is lucky because he could reach tall things from the shelf. I think the shortest man is lucky too as he can look under tables.
